Safari tours from Kemer
Kemer sits where the Beydağları, the western arm of the Taurus Mountains, meet the Mediterranean. Pine forest runs down to pebble beaches and the marina, and Mount Tahtalı rises behind the coast. That landscape shapes the choice here: four of our six tours stay in the hills close to the hotels, and two travel east for a full day on the water.
- Kemer Jeep Safari – seven hours in the mountains west of Kemer: the Kesme Boğazı gorge road, the village of Gedelme with its Byzantine castle ruins, a viewpoint high above the coast, a swim in a cold river and lunch with trout or chicken.
- Kemer Quad Safari – about 1.5 hours on your own quad on the forest trails around Kuzdere.
- Kemer Buggy Safari – the Kuzdere trails from behind a steering wheel, in a single or double buggy.
- Kemer Zipline in Göynük Canyon – two zipline lines and a suspension bridge about 40 m high, back at your hotel by early afternoon.
- Kemer Rafting Tour – about 14 km of class II–III rapids on the Köprüçay in Köprülü Canyon, with a riverside lunch.
- Kemer Green Canyon Boat Tour – a cruise on the turquoise Oymapınar Dam lake near Manavgat, with swim stops, lunch and soft drinks on board.
Where the routes go
The jeeps turn inland near Kuzdere and wind through the Kesme Boğazı, a narrow gorge between rock walls, before climbing to Gedelme, a mountain village with a huge old plane tree. From the viewpoint in the Ovacık area you look back down over the coastline. Quads and buggies stay lower, in the pine foothills around Kuzdere, where the trails dip into mud and shallow streams. Göynük Canyon lies close to the village of the same name; besides the ziplines it has a walking path and natural pools.
Rafting and the Green Canyon are different. Köprülü Canyon is about two hours’ drive from Kemer and the Green Canyon lake about two to two and a half hours, so both days begin early and end at around 18:00. Plan them for a day when you are happy to spend time on the road.
How to choose your Kemer safari
Families with young children will find the jeep safari and the Green Canyon boat tour especially relaxed: nobody has to drive or paddle, and infants aged 0–2 join free. First-timers who want a taste of off-road driving can share a double buggy, with one person at the wheel and the other enjoying the ride. Adrenaline seekers go for the quad or buggy safari, the Göynük Canyon zipline or a day of rafting on the Köprüçay. Short on time? The quad and buggy trips last four hours and the zipline brings you back by about 14:00, leaving the rest of the day for the beach.
Age limits differ by activity: the zipline is open from about 5 years, rafting and quad or buggy passengers from 7, and quad and buggy drivers from 16.
Horse riding is open from 6 years: the Kemer Horse Riding Tour heads to a riding centre about 20 minutes from Kemer and follows pine-forest and mountain paths in the Taurus foothills, with glimpses of the sea. No riding experience is needed, and the morning and sunset groups keep you out of the midday heat.
Season and practical tips
In July and August the morning quad and buggy group is the cooler choice, and the cold river on the jeep safari makes a welcome break in the heat of the day. Rafting runs mainly from April to October, with some November days depending on water and weather. Wear clothes that can get wet or muddy, closed shoes for the quads and buggies, and pack a swimsuit and towel for the jeep, zipline, rafting and boat days. For the zipline, keep some cash for the canyon entrance fee, which is paid on site.

Kemer: frequently asked questions
Do you also pick up from Beldibi and Tekirova?
Yes. Free hotel pickup covers the whole Kemer coast: Beldibi and Göynük to the north of the town, Kemer itself, and Kiriş, Çamyuva and Tekirova to the south. Because the hotels are spread along this stretch, your pickup time depends on where your hotel is and on the tour you choose, so we send it to you after booking. Please be at the hotel entrance a few minutes before that time.
How long is the drive from Kemer to Köprülü Canyon and the Green Canyon?
Both are full-day trips with an early start. Köprülü Canyon, where the rafting takes place, is about two hours' drive from Kemer, and the Green Canyon lake near Manavgat about two to two and a half hours. Pickup for these tours is at around 07:30 and you are back at your hotel at around 18:00. The jeep, quad, buggy and zipline tours, by contrast, stay close to Kemer.
Where do the Kemer quad and buggy safaris take place?
Both ride in the pine foothills around Kuzdere, a short drive inland from the Kemer hotels, so little of your time is spent on the road. The forest trails mix dusty stretches with mud and shallow river crossings. About 1.5 hours of the four-hour trip is riding time, and you choose the morning group (09:00–13:00) or the afternoon group (14:00–18:00) when you book.
Is the Göynük Canyon entrance fee included in the zipline tour?
No. The canyon entrance fee is charged at the gate and paid on site, so bring some cash. The tour covers your hotel transfer, the instructors, the harness and safety equipment, the two zipline lines and the suspension bridge – about an hour of activity in all. After the rides you can spend the rest of your time on the canyon path and at the natural pools.
