The Belek Jeep Safari and the Antalya Jeep Safari both climb into the Taurus foothills via the town of Gebiz to the village of Yumaklar, at about 920 metres. From Belek the jeeps drive north, from Antalya north-east, and golf courses and city beaches give way to mountain villages, wide views and a waterfall with a natural pool. Here is how the day works, where you are picked up and how to prepare.
The route via Gebiz to Yumaklar
- Pickup around 08:30. The exact time depends on where your hotel is and is sent after booking.
- Via Gebiz into the foothills. The jeeps leave the coastal plain behind and climb on country and mountain roads, with panoramic stops along the way.
- Mountain villages and Yumaklar. At about 920 metres, Yumaklar is the place to see village life up close; the Belek programme includes a visit to a village house.
- Waterfall and natural pool. Time for a swim in the pool below a mountain waterfall.
- Lunch at a mountain restaurant. Lunch is included; drinks are paid on the spot.
- Back at the hotel around 16:30 – about eight hours in all.
Depending on the weather and the roads, the order of the stops may change.
Yumaklar and the waterfall pool
Because Yumaklar lies at about 920 metres, the air is usually fresher than on the coast, which you will notice in July and August. The village stop shows everyday mountain life, and on the Belek tour you step inside a village house; please ask before you photograph people. The waterfall comes later: change into swimwear and enjoy the natural pool. It is fed by mountain water, so expect it to be refreshing rather than warm, and take care on wet rocks.
Pickup and what is included
- Belek: hotels in Belek, Kadriye, Boğazkent and Serik.
- Antalya: hotels in Lara, Kundu, Konyaaltı, Kaleiçi and the city centre. Guests staying in Kaleiçi may be met at a nearby meeting point.
Both tours start around 08:30 and end around 16:30. Included are the hotel transfer in both directions, the jeep with an experienced driver, a guide, the stops at Yumaklar and the waterfall pool, and lunch at a mountain restaurant. Drinks and personal expenses are not included.
What to wear and bring
- Swimwear and a towel for the waterfall pool.
- Comfortable clothes and closed shoes with a good grip, as the rocks around the pool can be slippery.
- Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.
- A light top for the higher villages.
- A small bag to keep your phone dry and free of dust.
- Some cash for drinks.
Who it suits
This is a relaxed day for families, couples and anyone new to off-road tours. Experienced drivers drive, you ride with your seat belt fastened, and nobody stands up while the jeeps are moving. Tickets are available for adults, children aged 3–11 and infants aged 0–2. The jeep safari is not suitable for pregnant guests; if you have back problems, please ask us before booking. The roads wind uphill, so if you are prone to car sickness, keep breakfast light. And if heavy rain makes the mountain roads unsafe, you can move to another date or get a full refund.
Other outdoor days from Belek and Antalya
- Quad and buggy: the off-road park lies in the Kurşunlu countryside near Aksu, about 30–40 minutes from Belek and 30–45 minutes from Antalya, with dirt tracks, forest, mud and water crossings. The Belek Quad Safari and the Antalya Buggy Safari give you about 1.5 hours of riding in a four-hour trip, in a morning or an afternoon group. The Kurşunlu Waterfall nature park is nearby but is not part of the ride.
- Rafting: Köprülü Canyon is only 45–60 minutes from Belek and about 1.5 hours from Antalya. The Belek Rafting Tour and the Antalya Rafting Tour cover about 14 km of class II–III rapids on the Köprüçay, with lunch by the river.
- Green Canyon: boat tours on the Oymapınar Dam lake, with swim stops, lunch and soft drinks on board, also pick up from Belek and Antalya. From the city the drive takes about two hours, so expect an early start.
All tours for your resort are listed on the Belek safari tours and Antalya safari tours pages.
Still deciding between driving and being driven? Our quad or buggy guide and Köprülü Canyon rafting guide help with the next choice. Whatever you pick, you book without prepayment, pay in cash on the day and can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before the tour.
