An Antalya quad or buggy safari fits into a city holiday without taking over the whole day. The off-road park lies in the Kurşunlu countryside near Aksu, about 20–25 km from the city, so the transfer takes 30–45 minutes and the whole trip about four hours. Whether you are staying in a resort hotel in Lara or Kundu, by the beach in Konyaaltı or in the old town of Kaleiçi, this guide explains how the half day works and how to plan it.
The tracks near Kurşunlu
Kurşunlu lies in the countryside between Antalya and Belek, near Aksu. The ride follows forest tracks with everything an off-road trip should have: dust on the dry stretches, mud in the dips and water to splash through. You ride for about 1.5 hours in convoy behind a guide, who sets the pace for the group.
The Kurşunlu Waterfall park lies nearby, but it is not part of the ride – the half day is spent on the tracks. Afterwards you hand back your vehicle, take a short break and are driven back to your hotel, about four hours after you were picked up.
Pickup from Lara, Kundu, Konyaaltı and Kaleiçi
Hotel pickup and drop-off are included from every part of the city:
- Lara and Kundu: the resort hotels along the long sandy beach on the eastern side of the city.
- Konyaaltı: the beach hotels on the western side.
- Kaleiçi and the centre: if you are staying in the old town, you may be met at a central meeting point near Hadrian’s Gate rather than at your door.
Antalya stretches a long way from Konyaaltı to Kundu, so the pickup time depends on where your hotel is; we send it to you after booking. Please be ready at the entrance a few minutes early.
Morning or afternoon group?
- Morning group: pickup from 08:30, back around 12:30. It is the cooler choice in summer, and you return in time for lunch and an afternoon by the sea.
- Afternoon group: pickup from 14:00, back around 18:00. Useful if your mornings belong to sightseeing – the old harbour, the lanes of Kaleiçi – or to a late breakfast.
In July and August the afternoon heat is strong, so choose the morning group if you can; in spring and autumn both groups work well. If you are only in Antalya for a few days, the four-hour format leaves room for both: a ride in the morning and the old town in the evening.
Quad or buggy?
Both vehicles use the same park and tracks, both come as singles or doubles, and the ticket is per vehicle.
- The Antalya Quad Safari is the hands-on option: handlebars, a motorbike-style seat and, on a double quad, your passenger behind you.
- The Antalya Buggy Safari has a steering wheel, car-style pedals and seat belts, with driver and passenger side by side – a natural fit for couples who want to share the ride.
No driving licence is needed. Drivers must be at least 16, under-18s only with a parent’s consent, and some vehicles are for over-18s only; passengers can ride from 7. A double buggy is the comfortable way for a parent to take a child of 7 or over along, as the child sits alongside with a seat belt on. Still unsure? Our quad or buggy guide compares the two in detail.
Safety and what to wear
Every ride starts with a safety briefing, a helmet fitting and a few minutes of practice, and helmets stay on throughout. The tours are not suitable for pregnant guests or for anyone with back, neck or heart problems. After heavy rain the route may be shortened, or the ride moved to another day.
- Old clothes and a spare T-shirt – dust and mud come with the territory
- Closed shoes; flip-flops are not suitable
- Sunglasses and a scarf or bandana for the dusty sections
- Sunscreen and a bottle of water, as food and drinks are not included
- A dust-proof bag for your phone
Other half and full days from the city
- Horse riding: the Antalya Horse Riding Tour sets off from a stable in the Lara and Kundu area and follows pine forest and the long sandy beach between Lara and Kundu. It takes about 3.5 hours, with a morning and a sunset group, and no riding experience is needed. Children can ride from 6; under-12s ride with an adult in the group.
- Jeep safari: the Antalya Jeep Safari spends a full day in the Taurus foothills, driving via Gebiz to Yumaklar village at about 920 metres, with a waterfall swim and lunch in the mountains – and an experienced driver at the wheel. Our Belek and Antalya jeep safari guide describes the route.
Every tour from the city is on the Antalya safari tours page. You book online or via WhatsApp without paying anything in advance, pay in cash on the tour day and can cancel free of charge until 24 hours before the start.
