Belek holidays tend to run at an easy pace: a round of golf, a swim, a long lunch. A Belek quad or buggy safari fits into that rhythm without taking it over. The off-road park lies in the Kurşunlu countryside near Aksu, 30–40 minutes from the hotels, and the whole trip takes about four hours from pickup to drop-off. Here is how the half day works, which group to choose and how to decide between handlebars and a steering wheel.
Where you ride: the tracks near Kurşunlu
From Belek the transfer heads west, towards Antalya, to the countryside of Kurşunlu between the two. The tracks there are dirt roads winding through forest, with muddy dips and water crossings that leave the vehicles – and usually their drivers – thoroughly splashed. In dry weather it is the dust that gets everywhere instead.
One thing worth knowing: the Kurşunlu Waterfall nature park is close by, but the tour does not go there. This half day is all about the driving. If you would like a waterfall swim as well, the Belek Jeep Safari stops at the natural pool of a mountain waterfall on its way through the Taurus foothills.
Morning or afternoon group?
There are two departure groups a day, each about four hours long:
- Morning group: pickup from 08:30, back around 12:30. In summer this is the cooler ride, and you are back in time for lunch and an afternoon on the beach at Belek, Kadriye or Boğazkent.
- Afternoon group: pickup from 13:30, back around 17:30. It suits anyone who plays golf in the morning or simply likes a slow start to the day.
If you plan to combine the ride with a round on the same day, leave yourself some slack. The pickup time depends on where your hotel is and is confirmed after booking, and you will want a shower between the mud and the clubhouse.
Quad or buggy: which suits your group?
The tracks, the riding time of about 1.5 hours and the rules are the same; the vehicle is what changes.
- Belek Quad Safari: you sit astride and steer with handlebars, a bit like a four-wheeled motorbike. It is the more physical ride, and you feel every bump. Book a single quad to ride alone, or a double with a passenger behind you.
- Belek Buggy Safari: a steering wheel, pedals and seat belts make it feel closer to a small car. In a double buggy the passenger sits beside the driver, which makes it easier to share the ride with a partner or a child.
Tickets are per vehicle, so a couple can share a double or take a single each. With teenagers in the family you can mix and match: drivers must be at least 16, under-18s only with a parent’s consent, and some vehicles are for over-18s only, while children from 7 can ride as passengers. Our quad or buggy comparison goes into more detail on how the two vehicles feel.
Safety rules and who should sit this one out
- No driving licence is needed.
- An instructor gives a safety briefing and lets everyone practise before the convoy sets off behind the guide.
- Helmets are compulsory for drivers and passengers, and buggy seat belts stay fastened.
- Tell us the ages of everyone in your group when you book.
The ride is bumpy, so it is not suitable for pregnant guests or for anyone with back, neck or heart problems. After heavy rain the tour may be moved to another day for safety.
What to wear, and getting clean afterwards
- Old clothes that can go straight into the wash, as mud stains
- Closed shoes – sandals and flip-flops are not suitable
- Sunglasses and a buff or scarf to pull over your mouth on dusty stretches
- Sunscreen and a bottle of water; food and drinks are not included
- A spare T-shirt and a plastic bag for the dirty clothes
Head for the shower first when you get back. Even after the afternoon group, which returns around 17:30, there is enough time to clean up before dinner.
More half and full days from Belek
- Horse riding: the Belek Horse Riding Tour is a calmer half day of about three hours. The stable lies on the edge of Belek’s pine forests, and the ride follows forest paths and sandy tracks through the dunes, with a short stop on the beach for photos. No experience is needed, riders must be at least 8, and you choose between a morning group and a sunset group.
- Jeep safari: a full day via Gebiz to Yumaklar, a village at about 920 metres, with a village house visit, a waterfall swim and lunch in the mountains, while an experienced driver does the driving. Our Belek and Antalya jeep safari guide follows the route stop by stop.
Every Belek tour, with free hotel pickup from Belek, Kadriye, Boğazkent and Serik, is listed on the Belek safari tours page. You book without prepayment, pay in cash on the tour day and can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before.
